Discover Chiang Rai 3 Day 2 Nights

Day One
Blue Temple · River Café · White Temple · Lalitta

Day 1 Route

Blue Temple → Chivit Thamma Da (coffee & cake) → drive south to the White Temple → Lalitta Café for a relaxed afternoon and early dinner.

2 min from resort

Wat Rong Suea Ten — Blue Temple

Chiang Rai's most striking contemporary temple, entirely clothed in deep cobalt and gold leaf. Begin your mornings here when the mirrored tiles catch the rising sun. Designed by Phuttha Kabkaew and opened in 2016.

1 min from resort · 2 min from Blue Temple

Chivit Thamma Da Coffee House, Bistro & Bar

An idyllic European-garden riverside retreat on the Kok River. The name means "ordinary life" — though everything here is anything but. Morning coffee or a leisurely lunch overlooking the water.

20–25 min from resort

Wat Rong Khun — White Temple

A living art project by national artist Chalermchai Kositpipat — the entire temple gleams white and silver-mirrored, representing Buddhist purity. The Bridge of the Cycle of Rebirth and the mind-bending mural hall are the centrepieces.

15–20 min from resort · 15 min from White Temple

Lalitta Café

End Day 1 in a fairy-tale setting. Giant waterfalls, angel-wing sculptures, fantasy gardens — this café-landmark is the ultimate sunset photoshoot backdrop, with Thai and international dining to match.

Day Two
Emerald Buddha Temple · Singha Park · Nine-Tiered Pagoda

Day 2 Route

Morning: Wat Phra Kaew (city centre) → Midday: Singha Park (book the tram tour on arrival) → Late afternoon: Wat Huay Pla Kang for sunset views from the pagoda.

5–10 min from resort

Wat Phra Kaew Chiang Rai

Where the Emerald Buddha was found in 1434 — one of the most significant archaeological moments in Thai history. The original now resides in Bangkok; a beautiful jade replica is enshrined here for veneration.

20–25 min from resort

Singha Park

8,000 rai of tea plantations, strawberry farms, flower fields, giraffe enclosures and a signature hot-air balloon festival. Ride the farm tram or rent a bicycle. The giant golden lion is the park's emblem and the backdrop for memorable shots.

10–15 min from resort

Wat Huay Pla Kang — Nine-Tiered Pagoda

The 69-metre Guan Yin goddess statue is the province's tallest structure. Take the elevator inside her robes to a viewing platform with panoramic vistas over Chiang Rai, the Kok River and the surrounding mountains.

Day Three
Hill Tribe Villages · Choui Fong Tea · Golden Triangle

Day 3 Route

This is the longest day. Depart early (07:30) for the hill tribe villages, swing through Choui Fong for lunch among the tea terraces, then continue north to the Golden Triangle for the afternoon. Allow 2 hours for the Hall of Opium. Our concierge can arrange a full-day private car.

30–60 min from resort (varies by village)

Hill Tribe Villages

Chiang Rai is home to the Akha, Karen, Hmong, Lahu and Yao communities who migrated from southern China, Myanmar and Laos centuries ago. Visit village markets for handwoven textiles, silverwork and embroidery — an authentic window into a living culture.

40–60 min from resort

Choui Fong Tea Plantation

Founded in 1977 and set at 1,200 metres above sea level in Mae Chan, this horseshoe-shaped tea terraces landscape is one of Chiang Rai's most beautiful scenes. The on-site café serves green tea ice cream, oolong tarts and fresh-brewed single-origin teas.

75–90 min from resort

The Golden Triangle

Where Thailand, Laos and Myanmar meet at the confluence of the Mekong and Ruak rivers. Once the world's opium heartland, now a fascinating historical destination. Boat trips on the Mekong, the Hall of Opium museum, and the iconic sign make for a full half-day.
